Van Buren Lofts
01. Introduction
Located in the West Loop, this building is known for being one of the last original concrete pier loft buildings of Chicago. In the past, it served as a paper mill and most recently as hardware company warehouse. Hardt Electric was contracted to provide complete power and low voltage systems for this new, loftâstyle, condominium conversion with 189 residential units.
02. Results
In the individual units, we worked on the tenant panel, receptacles, light fixtures and switches, telephone and TV cabling, smoke detectors and life safety speakers. In the base building, we worked on 3000 A electrical distribution, public area power and lighting, parking garage power and lighting, the bus duct riser system, elevator recall and the fire alarm system.
